Report: Despite AG's Support, State Attorney Opposed Plea Deal for Jonathan Urich

It was also reported that Isman conditioned approval on Urich receiving 12 months of actual imprisonment. The offer was rejected by Urich, and since then, plea negotiations between the parties have not resumed. In response, the AG and State Attorney's office stated: "The publication as is is false." An indictment was filed against Urich, an adviser to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, for a series of serious security offenses, including two counts of disclosing secret information with intent to harm state security, disclosing secret information, possessing secret information, and destroying evidence. The amended indictment reveals a pattern designed to bypass military censorship and official information transfer procedures, aiming to engineer public discourse in Israel. The investigation was conducted by the Lahav 433 unit of the Israel Police.
