Report: 'Bot Army' Echoed Mamdani from NYC City Hall Infrastructure

An exclusive Jerusalem Post investigation reveals a bot network suspected of amplifying messages from New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, with IP addresses 100% linked to city infrastructure. The probe, presented to the WZO, identified dozens of accounts with abnormal activity rates of hundreds of tweets per day and share rates up to 100%. The WZO will approach the US antisemitism envoy to transfer the data to federal authorities.

An exclusive investigation by journalist Mathilda Heller of the Jerusalem Post reveals a sophisticated network of accounts suspected of being 'bots' on the social network X (formerly Twitter), engaged in the coordinated amplification of messages from New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani and his allies. The findings, presented to the Department for Combating Antisemitism of the World Zionist Organization (WZO) and independently verified by cybersecurity experts, indicate with 100% certainty that the IP addresses of these accounts are directly linked to the computing infrastructure of New York City Hall. However, the information does not provide conclusive evidence regarding the identity of the actual operators, whether direct instruction was received from the mayor or the city administration forum, or who actually manages the accounts. The technological analysis revealed an abnormal behavioral pattern: activity rates of hundreds of tweets and shares per day, a high rate of reposts, profiles lacking personal information or created just days before the examination, and usernames of an automated nature. The report noted that in a large portion of the accounts, 96% to 100% of activity consisted solely of reposts. The account SnoopyLima13@ averaged 955 tweets per day with 100% shares, and CatCat2005689@ reached 864 tweets per day. The influence mechanism operates in an orderly manner: a post by Mamdani is immediately distributed by the network, providing an artificial boost and increasing algorithmic exposure, leading to a surge of hundreds of percent in exposure and millions of views. As an example, a video Mamdani posted on July 27, in which he claimed he could not stop Netanyahu in New York, garnered millions of views. Following the findings, the WZO will approach Rabbi Yehuda Kaplan, the US special envoy for combating antisemitism, to transfer the data to federal authorities. Mark Goldfeder, CEO of the National Jewish Advocacy Center (NJAC), has contacted the Department of Investigation and the Conflicts of Interest Board in New York, demanding to receive the city's server logs. The US State Department and New York City Hall have not provided comments.
