Red-Painted Knives and Backpacks on Doors: Holon Resident Arrested on Suspicion of 3 Threat Incidents
A 54-year-old Holon resident was arrested on suspicion of involvement in three threat incidents that occurred yesterday morning in Bat Yam, Holon, and Tel Aviv. In these incidents, backpacks and knives were placed at the entrances of two Bank Mizrahi branches and a Rami Levy branch, along with X marks and red-painted doors and mezuzahs. The police have centralized the investigation at the Holon station and will request an extension of his remand.
A 54-year-old Holon resident was arrested on suspicion of involvement in three threat incidents that occurred yesterday morning (Friday) in Bat Yam, Holon, and Tel Aviv. In these incidents, backpacks and knives were placed at the entrances of two Bank Mizrahi branches and a branch of the Rami Levy food chain, along with X marks and red-painted doors and mezuzahs. The first incident occurred at a Bank Mizrahi branch on 2 Yohanan Hasandler Street in Bat Yam, where a backpack was found attached to the door handle. Later, a similar find was discovered at the Rami Levy branch on 7 Hapeled Street in Holon, where a backpack was also attached to the door, and X marks were marked on the branch's windows. The third incident occurred at a Bank Mizrahi branch on 105 Allenby Street in Tel Aviv, where three knives were found stuck in the door, painted red, as well as mezuzahs painted red and X marks on the door. Following reports received at the 100 hotline, Tel Aviv District police arrived at the various scenes, collected evidence, and the investigation was centralized at the Holon station. The suspect was brought in for questioning and was jailed at its conclusion. The police are expected to request a court extension of his remand. At this stage, the motive for the incidents and the connection between the three scenes are being examined.
