Police officers from the Harel station in the Jerusalem district arrested a suspect in a car theft, after, according to police, he rammed two patrol cars during an attempt to flee near Kiryat Ye'arim. The suspect was arrested at the end of a foot chase, lightly injured. According to police, the officers identified the suspect vehicle as stolen, and the driver began driving recklessly, endangering the officers. After hitting two patrol cars, he was stopped and fled on foot. The officers chased him and fired shots in order to arrest him. Meanwhile, a report was received about a civilian lightly injured, apparently from shrapnel as a result of the shooting. A policewoman who took part in the chase was also evacuated in light condition, after being injured by the suspect's collision with the patrol car. The suspect will be transferred after medical treatment to an investigation at the Harel station.
