Reckless driving - and sped into a red light: Indictment filed against singer Sasson Shaulov | First publication
An indictment was filed against singer Sasson Shaulov for a traffic accident in Tel Aviv, in which he entered an intersection on a red light and caused a collision with another vehicle. Three young people were injured in the accident. Shaulov is charged with reckless driving, running a red light, and conduct causing damage.
An indictment was filed today (Sunday) at the Tel Aviv Traffic Magistrate's Court against singer Sasson Shaulov, about a month and a half after a traffic accident in which he was involved. According to the indictment, Shaulov was driving a BMW on Herzl Street in Tel Aviv, approached the intersection of Herzl and Jaffa Road, and entered the intersection on a red light while blocking the path of another vehicle, causing a collision. The accident occurred on July 3 at 1:58 AM. Three 18-year-old young people from Netanya were in the vehicle that was hit: Elia (the driver), Thomas, and Daniel. The driver of the vehicle and another passenger were injured and required medical treatment, and the vehicles were damaged. The young people told Walla that Shaulov said to them at the scene: "I was the one driving" and "It's not your mistake, it's my mistake. I ran a red light." According to them, Shaulov asked for Elia's phone number and promised to take care of the damage, but did not contact them afterward. The young people expressed concern that he would receive "celebrity treatment." Now, 51 days after the accident, the indictment was filed, charging Shaulov with running a red light, reckless driving, and conduct causing damage. The police stated that there was no suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, Shaulov's license was revoked, and he was summoned for further processing.
