Rani's Legacy to Be Passed to the Next Generation: Pre-Police Preparatory Program to Be Established at Shabas's 'Cholot' Facility

A pre-police preparatory program for prospective officers will be established at the Cholot facility in the Negev, initiated by the Guili family in memory of their son Rani, a YASAM fighter who fell on October 7. The program will accept about 40-50 boys and girls, Jews, Druze, and Arabs, and will operate in cooperation with the IDF. The family has begun crowdfunding with a goal of 2.5 million shekels, ahead of opening in September 2027.

A pre-police preparatory program for prospective command and combat roles is being established these days at the Cholot facility in the Negev. The program was initiated by the Guili family in memory of their son Rani Guili, a YASAM fighter who fell in the battle at Alumim on October 7, and whose body was abducted to Gaza and returned in the last hostage deal. His father Itzik said that Rani went out to fight despite being wounded in his shoulder, and loved the land, history, music, and working with his hands. The program will work in cooperation with the IDF and will accept about forty to fifty boys and girls, Jews, Druze, and Arabs. The facility, which was built to house infiltrators, currently stands empty. The family has begun crowdfunding, with a goal of two and a half million shekels, ahead of accepting the first cohort in September 2027. Itzik also plans to establish a similar program for Haredim in the north.
