An indictment has been filed against a 28-year-old Jerusalem resident, charging him with disturbing a police officer in the line of duty, conduct likely to disrupt public peace, and insulting a public servant. The incident occurred during last year's Eid al-Adha. According to the indictment, while ascending the Temple Mount, the defendant asked a female visitor accompanying him to film him as he raised a middle finger toward the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Police officers at the scene detained him for questioning, and in response he began cursing them with harsh expressions, including "Nazis," "traitors," "homos," "pigs," and "Fuck You." A search of his belongings revealed a flag of the "Kach" movement and a 10 cm metal cylinder, which he claimed was for self-defense. The insults continued at the police station, where the defendant told the investigator: "Are you a Muslim Arab? A terrorist, Kahane was right."
