Rabid dog found in Ramat Gan

The Israeli Ministry of Health reported that a dog infected with rabies was found in a parking lot in Ganei Yehoshua, Ramat Gan. Following the incident, ten people who had contact with the dog were referred for preventive rabies vaccination. In an official statement, the ministry urges anyone who, between August 7 and 12 inclusive, had contact with the infected animal or with any stray animal in the area of the incident to urgently contact the Tel Aviv Health District Office at 03-5684631 or the nearest health district office (lishkat ha-briut) in their place of residence to consider preventive treatment. After working hours and on weekends, it is recommended to contact the emergency department of a hospital. The message is informational and precautionary, aimed at preventing the spread of rabies among the population.
