Ra'am to Hold Primaries on August 22, Run Independently Without Subordination to Shura Council

The Ra'am party announced it will hold primaries on August 22, separate from the Islamic Movement and without subordination to the Shura Council. The party will run independently, without partnerships with other Arab parties, and will work to topple the current government.

The Ra'am party, led by MK Mansour Abbas, announced it will hold primaries for its list on August 22. For the first time, the primaries will be held separately from the Islamic Movement's conference and without subordination to the Shura Council, a step that severs the connection between the party and the movement – a break Abbas declared last December. The party will run alone, without partnerships with other Arab parties. In its announcement, the party stated it is working to topple the Netanyahu–Ben Gvir–Smotrich government and replace it with a new change government in which it would be a partner. The move strengthens the party's civic line; recently Abbas declared support for civil service for Arab citizens.
