The explanation for the defensive failure is a severe shortage of advanced interceptors for the American Patriot systems, which are the only response to ballistic missiles. Air raid sirens sounded for more than an hour, fires broke out, and rescue forces extracted trapped people. The Russian Defense Ministry claimed the targets were military logistics centers, while the head of Kyiv's military administration called the attack a deliberate crime against civilians. Last week, five members of one family were killed in the village of Radushna by a North Korean-made missile.
