The report was received at the police hotline during the night hours. About an hour after the incident, the defendant arrived at a bank branch in Rahat and attempted to perform transactions with a credit card stolen from the victim. He was arrested shortly thereafter and transferred for questioning at the Be'er Sheva station. At the end of the investigation, the prosecution filed an indictment charging him with aggravated robbery and use of an essential component of a payment instrument.
