Protesters arrive at homes of Women of the Wall leaders: "I fear for my life"
Haredi protesters arrived at the homes of Women of the Wall leaders Anat Hoffman and Yochi Rappaport in Haifa and Jerusalem, shouted insults through megaphones and clashed with neighbors. The organization claims the addresses were obtained fraudulently and that police did not arrive. Hoffman: "I fear for my life and my family's lives."
A group of protesters from the Haredi sector arrived in the early morning hours at the homes of Women of the Wall chairwoman Anat Hoffman in the Bat Galim neighborhood of Haifa at around 6:45, and of the organization's CEO Yochi Rappaport in Jerusalem at around 5:30. The protesters shouted insults through megaphones and clashed with neighbors. According to Women of the Wall, the two women's addresses were obtained fraudulently. Hoffman's partner and her neighbor contacted the police, but according to the organization, officers did not arrive. Hoffman stated: "This is a crossing of a red line, and the police must treat this threat with full seriousness. I want to know why the police did not arrive following our call? What will happen if next time 100 protesters show up? I fear for my life and my family's lives."
