Protest on Ayalon: 'Bring Shin Bet into investigation of Haymanot Kasau's disappearance'

Dozens of protesters blocked the Ayalon Highway near the Azrieli complex in Tel Aviv this evening (Sunday), demanding that the Shin Bet (General Security Service) be brought into the investigation of the disappearance of Haymanot Kasau, a 9-year-old girl who vanished 882 days ago from an absorption center in Safed. Police forces cleared the protesters from the road, but family members and activists announced they would continue the protest. Rahli Abeta, a relative, told Walla that the family sees this as a kidnapping and that the police investigation has failed. The father, Tesfaya Kasau, compared the handling of his daughter's case to the swift search for 4-year-old Yuval Kogan, claiming the gap stems from racial discrimination. According to him, the Attorney General approved the involvement of the Shin Bet in January, but it has not been implemented. The family demands that all technological capabilities be used to locate the girl.
