"Prisoners' Media" warns of deteriorating conditions of prisoners in Jannot isolation
The Prisoners' Media Office confirmed that prisoners in the isolation section of Jannot prison face harsh conditions, including a severe shortage of food, clothing, and hygiene supplies, and exposure to ill-treatment, violence, beatings, and sleep deprivation. It stated that the prison administration deliberately disturbs them at night, and that the yard time does not exceed 15 minutes every two days. It called on human rights bodies to intervene urgently to improve their conditions and hold those responsible accountable.
The Prisoners' Media Office confirmed on Monday that prisoners in the isolation section of Jannot prison face harsh conditions, with a severe shortage of food, clothing, and hygiene supplies, in addition to ill-treatment, violence, beatings, pushing, and deprivation of sleep and rest. The office stated in a statement that the prison administration deliberately disturbs prisoners during the night by repeatedly knocking on doors and windows, depriving them of sleep and increasing their suffering in isolation. It noted that the yard time in isolation is extremely limited, in some cases not exceeding 15 minutes every two days, along with a shortage of hygiene supplies, limited hot water for showers and shaving, and a lack of clothing, as well as a decrease in the quantity and quality of food. It mentioned that the prisoners in Jannot isolation are: Muhannad Shreim, Abbas al-Sayed, Jamal al-Hour, Islam Hamid, and Rizq Rajoub, while prisoners Abdullah al-Barghouti and Munadil Infeiat were transferred to cells. The Prisoners' Media Office called on human rights and humanitarian bodies to intervene urgently to pressure the occupation authorities to improve the conditions of prisoners in Jannot prison, stop violations against them, and hold those responsible accountable.
