Prisoners' Media: Serious Violations Against Negev Prison Inmates Amid Worsening Humanitarian Conditions
The Prisoners' Media Office accuses the administration of Israel's Negev Prison of escalating violations against inmates, including assaulting those infected with scabies, confiscating fans, closing windows, and preventing yard time, amid deteriorating humanitarian and health conditions.
The Prisoners' Media Office said in a press statement that the administration of Israel's Negev Prison continues to escalate its violations against inmates amid deteriorating humanitarian and health conditions, especially against prisoners infected with scabies. The office explained that the guards deliberately assault inmates with scabies by hitting the boils on their bodies, causing bleeding and doubling their suffering. The administration also confiscated fans and closed windows inside the wards, worsening the suffering amid high heat and humidity. Inmates were denied yard time for long periods, and only some wards were allowed out for half an hour over the past two days. The office called on international and human rights organizations to urgently intervene to stop what it described as ongoing crimes and violations.
