Prisoners Authority Holds Occupation Responsible for Life of Detained Doctor Mazen al-Rantisi

The Commission of Detainees and Ex-Prisoners Affairs held the Israeli occupation authorities fully responsible for the life of detained doctor Mazen al-Rantisi, warning of the deterioration of his health condition in Ofer Prison due to deprivation of treatment and medication and malnutrition, and calling for urgent action to pressure the occupation to stop violations and provide medical care.

The Commission of Detainees and Ex-Prisoners Affairs, on Monday, held the Israeli occupation authorities fully responsible for the life of detained doctor Mazen al-Rantisi, amid the deterioration of his health condition inside Ofer Prison. The Commission said that al-Rantisi is being deprived of treatment and medication, along with malnutrition and humiliating treatment, under harsh detention conditions and ongoing violations against prisoners in occupation prisons. The Commission stressed that the continued deprivation of al-Rantisi from necessary medical care exacerbates the risks threatening his life, calling for urgent action to pressure the occupation authorities to stop violations against prisoners and provide them with necessary treatment. This statement comes in the context of previous reports about the arrest of two doctors from the al-Rantisi family, where the website had previously published testimonies about the circumstances of the martyrdom of doctor Iyad al-Rantisi and human rights warnings of an imminent danger to the life of doctor Hussam Abu Safiya.
