Popular tourist route on the Golan Heights closed due to mine clearance
The Golan Heights Tourism Department announced the closure of a section of the "Golan Trail" on Mount Avital from September 10 to December 15, 2026. The reason is mine clearance operations. The Golan Heights Tourism Department has announced the closure of a section of the popular hiking trail "Golan Trail" ("Shvil HaGolan"). The section on Mount Avital, running between the Nadia Cohen sculpture and Ein Zivan, will be closed to tourists from September 10 to December 15, 2026. The closure is due to mine clearance operations in the area. The route will be inaccessible for approximately three months.
