Popular Front: Washington and Mladenov Complicit in Gaza Crime
The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine held the US administration and former UN envoy Nikolay Mladenov responsible for the Israeli escalation in Gaza, considering them partners in crimes against Palestinians. It called for an end to American bias, obliging the occupation to implement agreements, and holding its leaders accountable for war crimes.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine held the US administration and former UN envoy Nikolay Mladenov responsible for the ongoing Israeli escalation in the Gaza Strip, along with the accompanying bombardment, assassinations, and targeting of civilians, as well as repeated violations of the ceasefire agreement. The Front said that continued political and military support for the occupation, providing international cover for its attacks, and bias towards it and covering up its crimes, makes the US administration and Mladenov partners in these crimes and in the continued shedding of Palestinian blood. It demanded an end to what it described as American bias, and assuming political, legal, and moral responsibilities towards what the Palestinian people are subjected to, calling on Mladenov to step out of the circle of silence and ambiguous positions, and to clearly acknowledge that the Israeli occupation and its Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu are not interested in implementing agreements and continue to undermine efforts to calm. The Front stressed that the occupation, in its view, exploits Palestinian blood in service of its electoral propaganda and political calculations, emphasizing that the continuation of daily Israeli occupation violations necessitates a decisive and immediate stance. It added that the real test and direct duty of the Peace Council and the guarantor parties is to curb the occupation, oblige it to implement agreements, and stop its field violations, not just to record violations or issue formal positions. The Front called for immediate and effective action to stop what it described as "Israeli aggression" and curb the assault, impose full commitment to agreements, end the policy of impunity, and hold occupation leaders accountable for war crimes committed against the Palestinian people.
