Popular Front Warns Against Formalistic Steps That Would Empty Gaza Agreement of Its Content

The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine warned against partial or formalistic steps under the guise of implementing the second phase of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, considering that they aim to circumvent the agreement and empty it of its content. It called on mediators to pressure Israel to implement the agreement in full, pointing to Netanyahu's statements rejecting the roadmap as an indication of maneuvering. It also called for a unified Arab and Islamic stance.

The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine issued a statement on Sunday warning against taking partial or formalistic steps under the guise of implementing the second phase of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, considering that these steps aim to circumvent the agreement and empty it of its content. The Front called on mediators to assume their responsibilities and pressure the Israeli occupation to implement the agreement in full, noting that the statements of the head of the occupation government, Benjamin Netanyahu, rejecting the roadmap confirm that the occupation continues to maneuver to obstruct implementation and evade its obligations, thereby allowing the continuation of the war of genocide, ethnic cleansing, and displacement against Palestinians. The Front called on mediators to fulfill their commitments and exert real pressure on the United States to compel the occupation to implement, and also demanded a unified and effective Arab and Islamic stance. It warned against attempts to market partial steps as implementation of the agreement, considering that they aim to entrench the division and fragmentation of the Gaza Strip and keep more than two million Palestinians besieged in an area not exceeding a third of the Strip. The Front affirmed that the flexibility shown by the Palestinian parties came to make the agreement succeed and stop the suffering of the people, and it cannot become a gateway to extracting further concessions, and that implementation must be based on the principle of reciprocity and mutual commitment. It also warned against what it described as "Mladenov's alignment with Netanyahu's political interests and the plans of the Israeli government," calling for an effective Arab and Islamic stance that confronts the occupation's plans aimed at uprooting and displacing Palestinians. It stressed the need to transform political and diplomatic pressures into practical steps that ensure the implementation of the agreement and prevent the occupation from imposing unilateral arrangements or new facts on the Strip.
