Police: Suspicion against Avraham Hadi in throwing stones at Channel 12 building strengthened

During the hearing, the police revealed that since the previous extension, new investigation materials have been added that, according to them, strengthen the suspicion against him, while Hadi himself continues to exercise his right to remain silent in his interrogation. Police representative, Attorney Batal Aloni, said in the hearing that "there are new investigation materials that strengthen the suspicion," and noted that Hadi is suspected of offenses including extortion by threats, threats, obstruction of justice, intentional damage to property, and defacing real property. According to the suspicion, in addition to throwing stones at the Channel 12 building and leaving a threatening letter, he also sprayed a threatening graffiti message outside the offices of Channel 13. Judge Yaron Gat determined that there is reasonable suspicion linking Hadi to the offenses attributed to him and that grounds for detention exist, and ordered his detention extended until August 5. The investigation was opened following a series of incidents in which media outlets were attacked, including stone-throwing at the buildings of Channel 12 and Haaretz, and the smashing of glass doors at the entrance to the Channel 12 building, for the second time in less than a month. Due to the severity of the incidents, the General Security Service also joined the investigation, which is being conducted jointly with the crime-fighting unit of the Dan district in the Tel Aviv area.
