Police Release Name of Suspect in Murder of Obanech Dinko
Israel Police released the name of the suspect in the murder of Obanech Dinko, Yosef Ben Yaakov Ashor, and filed a serious indictment against him at the District Court in Nof HaGalil. Dinko was killed by a bomb planted in his car that exploded with immense force, even though he was not involved in criminal activity.
Israel Police released the name of the suspect in the murder of Obanech Dinko, Yosef Ben Yaakov Ashor, 38, from Migdal HaEmek, and filed a serious indictment against him at the District Court in Nof HaGalil. According to the indictment, about two weeks before the murder, Ashor arrived twice near Dinko's home. On the night of the murder, at the end of May, around midnight, Ashor left the Tivon area driving a stolen operational vehicle with fake license plates, and arrived at the scene in a residential neighborhood in Afula about six hours before the explosion. At 5:00 AM, he attached an explosive device under Dinko's car (Hyundai) near the driver's seat. At 8:38 AM, when Dinko returned alone toward his home, Ashor remotely detonated the device. Dinko was evacuated in critical condition to HaEmek Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. Ashor was arrested within hours. Dinko was not involved in crime and paid with his life due to the involvement of his relatives in criminal activity. The indictment includes charges of aggravated murder, weapons offenses, receiving a stolen vehicle, and carrying an explosive device. The police linked Ashor to another explosive device found in February in Afula.
