Police investigate arson and assault by Jewish rioters in the West Bank

Judea and Samaria District Police opened an investigation into an arson and assault incident near Hebron, after Jewish rioters raided a house in the village of Zurif, set a vehicle on fire, and attempted to set the house ablaze. Meanwhile, it was reported that a Palestinian couple was assaulted in the village of Beitin. Last week, a house was set on fire in the village of Furik, and on the same night, a mosque was torched in the village of Qusra with the inscription "Revenge for Binyamin," two days after the attack at Havat Gilad.

Judea and Samaria District Police opened an investigation on Saturday following an arson and assault incident in the Hebron area. According to Palestinian sources, Jewish rioters raided a house in the village of Zurif, set a vehicle on fire, and also attempted to set the house ablaze. Police forces and forensic investigators entered the scene with IDF escort and collected findings, evidence, and testimonies. Meanwhile, the Palestinian news agency Wafa reported that Jewish rioters beat a Palestinian couple in the village of Beitin, northwest of Ramallah, while they were working on their farm. The injured were evacuated to a hospital and are suffering from wounds and bruises. The incidents add to a series of cases in the past week: the arson of a house in the village of Furik in the Nablus area, and the burning of a mosque in the village of Qusra with the inscription "Revenge for Binyamin," two days after the attack at Havat Gilad in which Binyamin Melet and IDF officer Major Yuval Ezra were killed. It was also revealed that reserve soldiers refused an order to secure a police force in the village of Furik, and the mission was assigned to another force.
