Police assess that Eldar Dayan, a resident of Dimona who was declared missing, has gone underground and that his friends know where he is hiding. Dayan is wanted for questioning on suspicion of involvement in a hit-and-run accident in Petah Tikva, in which he allegedly ran over a young man and fled, abandoned the vehicle, and removed the license plates to make identification difficult. Police will request an extension of the detention of Maxim Braverman and Omri Peretz, suspected of involvement in the affair and obstructing the investigation. Security camera footage shows Dayan in a convenience store, healthy and whole, which strengthens the assessment that he is hiding. The release of the suspects could, according to police, harm the investigation.
