Additionally, the appointment of Shaul Shtau, former chief internal auditor of the Mossad, as the internal auditor of the Central Elections Committee was revealed, following a turbulent period surrounding this position.

Police Commissioner Danny Levy told officer cadets ahead of their graduation ceremony: 'We will ensure the purity of the elections and will not allow anyone, and I emphasize anyone, to harm the democratic process.' The statement comes ahead of an upcoming election campaign. Meanwhile, it was revealed in 'Hayom' that the Central Elections Committee appointed Shaul Shtau, who served five years as the chief internal auditor of the Mossad and served in the organization for 30 years, as the committee's internal auditor. Shtau was unanimously selected from eight candidates. The appointment follows a turbulent period: the previous internal auditor, attorney Hila Waldman, resigned after about a year due to professional disagreements with the then-committee CEO, and the committee operated without a permanent internal auditor for about two years. Shtau's appointment joins a series of senior appointments in the committee, including attorney Yifat Siminovsky as legal advisor in March and Dean Livne as acting CEO in May.
