The criminal group included a married couple from the north of the country and their accomplice from the central region. The perpetrators used social media to offer Romanian citizens attractive job vacancies in Israel. Upon arrival, the victims had their passports confiscated, depriving them of freedom of movement. The victims were housed in unsanitary conditions and under threats were forced to beg daily on the streets, with all income taken by the perpetrators. Additionally, the criminals blackmailed the victims' families in Romania, demanding large sums for the return of passports and the possibility of returning home. The suspects are currently being interrogated, and the investigation continues.
