The suspect, a member of a local security team, allegedly participated in clashes that left several Palestinians requiring hospitalization. The arrest was the result of a joint operation by Israel Police, Border Police, and the Shin Bet. Army Radio reported that some settlers were masked and several Palestinians were injured, claims later denied by the IDF. At the time, the military said the Judea and Samaria District Police had opened an investigation into footage showing uniformed IDF soldiers participating in the violence. Police stated the suspect was equipped with a military-issued M-16 rifle and a pistol, though no shots were fired. An indictment had already been filed, but the suspect evaded arrest until Wednesday. His weapons were seized, and police will request an extension of his detention.
