Pinhas Idan will not appeal his expulsion from Likud: "The PM decided that I am the malicious factor"

Pinhas Idan, chairman of the Israel Airports Authority workers' committee, announced he will not appeal Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's decision to expel him from the Likud party, following what Netanyahu described as a "wild strike at Ben Gurion Airport." Idan claims he did not order the work stoppage at the airport but accepts the decision.

Pinhas Idan, chairman of the Israel Airports Authority workers' committee, announced today (Sunday) that he will not appeal Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's decision to expel him from the Likud party. The decision was made following events described by Netanyahu as a "wild strike at Ben Gurion Airport." In a letter sent to Michael Kleiner, head of the Likud court, Idan wrote: "The PM decided that specifically I am the malicious factor causing damage to the party." Idan, whose family has been members of Likud for over 50 years, claims he was not the one who ordered the work stoppage at the airport and even demanded an investigation to find the real responsible party. He concluded by wishing Netanyahu and Likud members a happy new year and clarified that he will continue to represent the authority's workers.
