Phone Call Between Sa'ar and Sybiha – Details
Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar and his Ukrainian counterpart Andrii Sybiha held a phone conversation, discussing the Iranian threat and expanding bilateral cooperation. Sa'ar invited Sybiha to visit Israel for the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations. A meeting between Ukrainian Ambassador Korniychuk and Sports Minister Zohar was also reported, where destruction of Ukrainian sports due to the war and a ban on Russian symbols were discussed.
Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar and Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha held a phone conversation, during which they discussed the Iranian threat and further steps to develop bilateral cooperation. Sa'ar expressed condolences to the Ukrainian people for their losses from the war and invited Sybiha to visit Israel for the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. He emphasized the friendly nature of the relations and announced the creation of educational centers based on Ukrainian medical institutions. Also reported was a meeting between Ukrainian Ambassador Yevhen Korniychuk and Sports Minister Miki Zohar. Korniychuk provided data on the deaths of over 660 athletes and coaches and the destruction of more than 852 sports facilities, including over 20 Olympic and Paralympic bases. He expressed dissatisfaction with the admission of Russian athletes to competitions and called on Israel to prevent the display of Russian symbols. Zohar expressed support for Ukraine and stated his intention to visit Ukraine this year.
