Measures were stepped up following serious disruptions last month due to premature shift departures. Meanwhile, the increase in passenger traffic was accompanied by security and military police detection of draft dodgers attempting to leave the country. In recent days, dozens of soldiers were detained at Ben-Gurion terminals trying to fly from Israel to Ukraine via transit flights for pilgrimage to Uman, to the grave of Rabbi Nachman of Breslov. Among those detained were two soldiers removed from a Wizz Air flight before departure to Poland. Passengers are advised to arrive at the airport early and check flight information.
