Palestinian Authority security forces continue arresting freed prisoners in the West Bank

Palestinian Authority security forces continue arresting freed prisoners and citizens in several West Bank governorates, alongside house raids and assaults during some arrest operations, according to local sources. The arrests include religious figures, activists, and freed prisoners, among them those who spent many years in occupation prisons. Local parties demand disclosure of detention locations and ensuring the safety of detainees.

Palestinian Authority security forces continue arresting a number of freed prisoners and citizens in several West Bank governorates, alongside house raids and assaults during some arrest operations, according to local sources. In Ramallah, the Authority's forces arrested blind Sheikh Aouda Fawalha, who serves as imam and preacher for several city mosques, along with Sheikh Khaled al-Natsheh, an imam and mosque preacher. In Hebron, they arrested activist Shadi Osama after raiding his home, and Professor Youssef Abu Zar, a leader of Hizb ut-Tahrir in the West Bank. They also arrested young man Fadi Younis and severely beat him, and the three brothers Mohammed, Ahmed, and Abdullah Nasser after storming their home. The forces continue detaining Sheikh Younis Mohammed Younis Rabah and his two sons Abdul Aziz and Abdul Rahman after raiding their home after midnight, assaulting family members with sticks and clubs, causing injuries, including serious ones. In Hebron, they continue detaining Hajj Fakhr al-Muhtasib and his nephew Karim, while Ammar and Obeida al-Muhtasib were injured during the raid. In Jenin, they continue for days detaining three freed prisoners from Silat al-Harithiya: Osama al-Shalabi (13 years in prisons), Ibrahim al-Shalabi and Faris Shawahna (7 years each), in addition to Nasr Amour. In Ramallah, the Authority's intelligence continues detaining doctor and professor Ahmed Hind for the fourth consecutive day. In Nablus, they continue detaining freed prisoner Amer al-Tanbour for the twelfth day, who had spent 27 years in prisons before being released in the "Al-Aqsa Flood" deal in 2024. In Tubas, they continue detaining Abdullah Bashir Atiyani for the twelfth day, re-arrested about a month after his release. The Committee of Families of Political Prisoners confirmed the continued tightening of measures against political prisoner Amin al-Qawqa, wanted by occupation forces, after transferring him from Jericho prison to the security committee headquarters in "Al-Junaid" prison. These arrests come amid demands to disclose detention locations and ensure their safety.
