Saeed al-Amour, a Palestinian amputee from Masafer Yatta in the Hebron Hills, was attacked yesterday (Saturday) in his home's yard with an iron bar by two young settlers who arrived on an ATV. The incident was captured on camera. Al-Amour told ynet that he tried to push his 7-year-old son away from the attackers, one of whom held an iron bar and wanted to hit the child. After he shouted at them, the attacker left the child and pursued him. Al-Amour, who has been disabled in his right leg for about a year and a half following a previous attack in which a settler shot him, was pushed and fell, then was beaten on his back and leg. After the attack, the young men fled, and Red Crescent personnel evacuated him to the hospital. Initially, he did not contact the police for fear of delays, but later an online complaint was filed and the two suspects were arrested. Osama Makhamra, an activist against settlements, said this is another incident in a chain of attacks in the area, and that one of the attackers is regularly present nearby.
