Over NIS 10 Million Gap: Investigation Entangles Southern Dentist

The Tax Authority is investigating Raed Al-Baz, a dentist from Be'er Sheva, on suspicion of failing to report millions of shekels in income. According to the suspicion, the gap between deposits and reports in 2020-2025 exceeded NIS 10 million. It is also alleged that he omitted real estate assets worth about NIS 2.4 million from his capital declaration and moved his address from a locality granting a tax benefit. The investigation became public yesterday.

The Tax Authority, through the National Unit for Investigations and Crime Fighting (Yahalom) in cooperation with the NISA Assessing Officer, is conducting an investigation against Raed Al-Baz, a dentist and owner of a dental clinic in Be'er Sheva named "Dr. Al-Baz". The suspicions include failure to report income in the millions of shekels, submitting a false capital declaration, and failure to report a change of address. An analysis of his bank account found a gap of over NIS 10 million between deposits and reports in 2020-2025. It also emerges that he omitted real estate assets worth about NIS 2,400,000 from the capital declaration he submitted in December 2022, and moved his address from Tel Sheva, a locality granting a tax benefit of 18%, to Omer without reporting. Yesterday the investigation became public, documents were seized from his home and from his representative by court order, and he was released under restrictive conditions by a judge of the Rishon LeZion Magistrate's Court. The investigation is ongoing.
