Out of the Box and at the Edge of the World: The Secret Summer Camp of the 'Young Emissaries'

The annual summer camp of Chabad Youth ended successfully, with over 350 campers and about 100 staff members. The children, children of Chabad emissaries from around the world, came to Israel for a unique gathering. Alongside activities and studies, they developed community projects and won grants to help realize them. The camp included a curriculum on 'Halacha in Practice' and focused on the theme 'And He Stands Over Them'.

The annual summer camp of Chabad Youth ended last week with great success, bringing this year more than 350 campers alongside about 100 staff members. The children, children of Chabad emissaries from around the world, came to Israel from remote countries in Asia, small towns in Europe and the US, to feel a sense of belonging and meet other children experiencing the same reality. The camp is characterized by a family dynamic: the younger children participate as campers, while the older siblings serve as counselors and staff. In recent years, the project has been upgraded under the management of Yaakov Kanievsky, together with a team of students from the 'Tomchei Temimim' yeshivas. The curriculum included real dilemmas under the title 'Halacha in Practice', and this year the camp focused on the theme 'And He Stands Over Them', teaching the children how to draw strength to cope with personal and national challenges. The highlight event took place in the magnificent 'HaPansaim' hall, in the presence of the organization's leaders, and included the announcement of winners in an original entrepreneurship competition, with grants to help them realize the community projects they developed.
