OurCrowd, the Jerusalem-based venture capital fund, is estimated to have earned about $200 million in cash from the sale of its shares in BioCatch, following Visa's acquisition of the Israeli cybersecurity company for $2.4 billion. The deal, completed this week, marks one of OurCrowd's most profitable exits ever. In 2024, 57% of BioCatch was sold to private equity fund Permira at a valuation of $1.3 billion, while Visa's valuation soared to $2.4 billion. OurCrowd, founded by Jon Medved, operates a platform that pools qualified investors for tech investments, allowing smaller investments. The company declined to confirm the figures, but industry estimates suggest some investors may have earned twenty times their investment. OurCrowd has shifted focus to more mature companies and has recruited institutional investors like NTT and Scania.
