140 new immigrants from France landed in Israel on a family flight of the Ministry of Aliyah and Integration and the Jewish Agency, accompanied by Minister Ofir Sofer and Agency Chairman Doron Almog. Since October 7, more than 8,000 Jews have immigrated from France. By the end of July 2026, about 2,400 immigrants had arrived, an increase of about 30% compared to last year. About 20,000 aliyah files were opened from France.

140 new immigrants from France landed today (Monday) in Israel as part of the "family flight" of the Ministry of Aliyah and Integration and the Jewish Agency, in cooperation with the International Christian Embassy in Jerusalem. The immigrants were accompanied by Minister of Aliyah and Integration Ofir Sofer and Chairman of the Jewish Agency, Maj. Gen. (Res.) Doron Almog. Among the immigrants are dozens of young families, including 80 toddlers, children, and teenagers, who will join the Israeli education system already in the coming school year. During the flight, the immigrants received their immigrant certificate and their Israeli ID number. Among the passengers were three sets of twins, and the oldest immigrant is Annie, 85. According to data from the ministry and the agency, since the October 7 attack, more than 8,000 Jews have immigrated to Israel from France. By the end of July, about 2,400 immigrants had arrived from France - an increase of more than 30% compared to the same period last year. In recent years, a consistent upward trend has been recorded: 1,097 immigrants in 2023, 2,234 in 2024, and 3,357 in 2025. From October 7, 2023 to the end of July 2026, about 80,000 aliyah files were opened at the "Global Aliyah Center," of which about 20,000 from France. Upon landing, the immigrants were welcomed in a festive ceremony with Israeli flags, singing, and dancing. Minister Sofer said it is moving to see families choosing to immigrate precisely these days. Agency Chairman Almog emphasized that aliyah is the growth engine of Israel. Dr. Jürgen Bühler from the International Christian Embassy noted that the increase in aliyah is encouraging in light of the war threat.
