On Tuesday, August 4, in Jerusalem, dozens of radical Orthodox Jews disrupted a presentation of army programs for ultra-religious conscripts, held in a building on Jaffa Street. Protesters blocked a taxi with organizers, spat on the car, and kicked one of the participants. Reserve Brigadier General Ofer Winter, who was speaking at the meeting, faced demonstrators shouting insults. Protest organizers called the event a "conscription fair" and claimed that the programs, including studying in a kollel on a military base and serving in the "Hashmonaim" unit, were an attempt to lure youth into the army. Police were met with cries of "Nazis" and "murderers." During the clashes, at least one demonstrator was detained.
