Oren Nahari's Last Words: "I Could Have Been a Great Grandfather, Too Bad"

Oren Nahari, one of Israel's leading foreign news journalists, passed away today at the age of 70 after a battle with ALS. His funeral was held in Petah Tikva, during which his last words were read, in which he bid farewell to his family and friends and expressed regret that he would not get to be a grandfather. His partner Vered and his friend Yarin Kimor eulogized him.

His funeral was held at the Menucha Nechona Cemetery in Yarkon, Petah Tikva, with the participation of media figures, friends, and family. During the ceremony, his last words, written before his death, were read, in which he bid farewell to his loved ones: to Vered, the love of his life, to his children, to his friends, and to his audience. He spoke of his plans for the future, including trips, skydiving, and completing his books, and expressed regret that he would not get to be a grandfather. Vered, his partner, eulogized him, saying he was "a wonderful partner, a rare father, and a grandfather like no other." Yarin Kimor, his friend and colleague, eulogized him and shared moments of friendship and humor. His partner's son, Dean, also eulogized him, saying that Oren had become first-rate family.
