Ordinary school bag, drugs - and a gun: police raided a school in Nazareth

Police found a gun and drugs inside a school bag hidden in a school compound in Nazareth. A 30-year-old city resident was arrested and will be brought to court in Nof HaGalil-Nazareth for a remand hearing. The findings were discovered in a joint operation by Northern District police and Border Police fighters. Since the beginning of the year, more than 570 weapons have been seized in the district.

Following the findings, a 30-year-old city resident was arrested, and he is expected to be brought to court in Nof HaGalil-Nazareth, where police will request an extension of his remand. The findings were discovered yesterday during a joint operation by Northern District police and Border Police fighters. The forces raided the school compound and during the search located the school bag. The suspect was arrested and transferred for questioning at the police station. At this stage, no further details were provided about the types and quantities of drugs or the suspect's connection to the school compound. According to police data, since the beginning of the year, more than 570 weapons have been seized by Northern District police and Border Police fighters as part of the fight against violent crime. The case joins other seizures of weapons and drugs in Nazareth in recent months. In March, National Guard fighters, Border Police, and Northern District detectives raided a warehouse in the city, where they found a 'Carlo' type weapon and additional weapons, and seized drugs including hashish and 'Nice Guy', and a 26-year-old Nazareth resident was arrested.
