Occupation escalates in southern Lebanon.. successive raids and artillery shelling

The Israeli occupation army launched intensive airstrikes on towns in the Nabatieh district in southern Lebanon on Sunday, alongside artillery shelling on Zawtar al-Sharqiya. The raids targeted al-Nabatieh al-Fawqa, Kafr Tibnit, the vicinity of al-Dabsha hill, and the forest of Ali al-Taher, with repeated shelling on some sites within short time intervals. The attacks come despite the framework agreement signed in June 2025.

The Israeli occupation army launched a series of intensive airstrikes on towns and areas in the Nabatieh district in southern Lebanon on Sunday, alongside artillery shelling targeting the town of Zawtar al-Sharqiya. Israeli warplanes struck al-Nabatieh al-Fawqa, Kafr Tibnit, the vicinity of al-Dabsha hill, and the forest of Ali al-Taher, with repeated shelling on some sites within short time intervals. In al-Nabatieh al-Fawqa, occupation aircraft carried out a raid on the forest of Ali al-Taher, then targeted the town again with a second raid within less than a quarter of an hour. The vicinity of al-Dabsha hill was also hit by an airstrike, followed by renewed shelling on the area for the second time within less than half an hour. In Kafr Tibnit, Israeli aircraft launched two consecutive raids, then targeted the town again with a third raid within less than a third of an hour. These attacks follow extensive Israeli assaults on southern Lebanon on Friday and Saturday, which included airstrikes, artillery shelling, and demolition operations targeting residential neighborhoods, homes, a school, and infrastructure. The attacks continue despite the framework agreement signed by Beirut and Tel Aviv on June 26, 2025, under American sponsorship, which stipulates a gradual Israeli withdrawal from occupied territories in exchange for the deployment of the Lebanese army there. Israel still occupies areas in southern Lebanon, some for decades, and others since the war that took place between 2023 and 2024.
