Not Just Elections: Ayelet Shaked Testifies in Lahav 433 on Efi Naveh Affair

Former Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked arrived this morning (Tuesday) to give an open testimony at the National Fraud Investigation Unit (Yahalom) in Lahav 433, in the 'Neveh Tzedek' affair. The affair involves suspicions of quid pro quo relations between former Bar Association chairman, attorney Efi Naveh, and former judge Eitan Orenstein, in which Naveh supported Orenstein's appointment as president of the Tel Aviv District Court. The testimony was approved after receiving the necessary approvals from the Attorney General, and was given without warning. The investigation was opened following a publication in Haaretz in 2024, when unit detectives conducted searches at the suspects' homes and brought them in for questioning. Shaked, who served as Justice Minister, had a close relationship with Naveh during his tenure as Bar Association chairman, and the two collaborated on the Judicial Selection Committee, although this is not a legal issue.
