Not just defamation: Yair Golan to file lawsuit against Sara Netanyahu tomorrow - on an additional serious ground
Yair Golan is expected to file a lawsuit against Sara Netanyahu tomorrow, not only for defamation but also on an additional serious ground related to threats he received following her statements and the security he required. Golan sent a warning letter a week ago following an interview in which she promoted a conspiracy theory against him.
Yair Golan, chairman of the Democrats party, is expected to file a lawsuit tomorrow (Thursday) against Sara Netanyahu, the Prime Minister's wife. In the Kan News broadcast, it was reported this evening (Wednesday) that Golan will not sue Netanyahu only for defamation, but also on an additional serious ground - related to the threats he received after the Prime Minister's wife's statements and the security he required as a result. A week ago, Golan sent a pre-lawsuit warning letter to the Prime Minister's wife, following an interview she gave to Channel 14 in which she promoted a conspiracy theory against him. In the warning letter, Golan stated that if Netanyahu does not publish an apology within 24 hours and pay financial compensation to be donated to survivors of the Nova massacre, he will file a lawsuit against her for at least 2.5 million shekels. The Likud party called Golan's statements in response: "A chauvinistic, thuggish, and violent display."
