Nof HaGalil Mayor Ronen Ploot surprised Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich with a touching gesture by presenting him with the key to the city, in appreciation of a historic budget of over three billion shekels and tax benefits for residents, alongside steps to strengthen Jewish settlement in the Galilee.

Nof HaGalil Mayor Ronen Ploot, together with city council member Menachem Gendel, met with Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich in Jerusalem for a working meeting. During the meeting, the mayor surprised the minister and presented him with the key to the city of Nof HaGalil, as a gesture of appreciation for the massive assistance throughout the war. The key was placed in a special frame with a dedication to the minister. The minister warmly thanked them, and the two held an extended working meeting on issues concerning the city's residents and strengthening the region. Additionally, the mayor congratulated the minister on the birth of his grandson, the son of his son Binyamin, who was seriously wounded in the fighting on the Lebanon border. The gesture comes after the transfer of a historic budget of over three billion shekels to the north and significant tax benefits for cities and towns in the area.
