No Mandate for Evasion: Massive Protest Planned at Habima Square

The Movement for Quality of Government and additional organizations will hold a protest this evening (Saturday) at Habima Square in Tel Aviv, calling for the establishment of a state commission of inquiry into the October 7 massacre and demanding equality in the burden of war. The protest takes place three days before the Supreme Court hearing on petitions against the law freezing arrests of deserters.

The Movement for Quality of Government, the October Council, the Magen Wall Forum for Israel, Paratroopers for Democracy, 555 Patriots, and the Forum of Protest Organizations will hold a protest this evening (Saturday) at Habima Square in Tel Aviv. The organizers call for the establishment of a state commission of inquiry into the October 7 massacre and demand equality in the burden of war. The protest is planned three days before the Supreme Court hearing on petitions against the law freezing arrests of deserters, which will take place this coming Tuesday before an expanded panel of nine justices. The Movement for Quality of Government is one of the leading petitioners in the case. In a statement from the organizers, it was said: "The Knesset may have dispersed, but the government has not ceased its attempts to evade responsibility and increase the burden on the serving public." Speakers at the protest are expected to include Gal Goren, a member of Kibbutz Nir Oz; Maj. Gen. (res.) Prof. Amos Gilad; Attorney Iris Shmueli; and Dr. Meital Pinto.
