New flights opening – where Israir will fly

Israeli airline Israir has received a license to operate Airbus A330 aircraft, enabling long-haul flights. The company plans to request permits for Thailand, Japan, Hong Kong, and the USA. Two aircraft were purchased for $85 million, 15 pilots were hired, and the share of female pilots reached 10%.

Israeli airline Israir has taken a strategic step toward launching its own long-haul flight network. The carrier has received an official license to operate and maintain wide-body Airbus A330 aircraft. The company intends to request permits for flights to Thailand, Japan, and Hong Kong, as well as complete documentation for flights to the USA. To implement these plans, two Airbus A330 aircraft were purchased for $85 million, each with a capacity of 295 passengers in premium, business, and economy classes. As part of preparations for the Tel Aviv–New York route, 15 new pilots were hired, including three women. The share of female pilots in the workforce has reached about 10%, exceeding global averages. The A330 aircraft have been in operation since 1994 and are considered reliable.
