New commander for Unit 8133 - the IDF General Staff unit for protecting senior officials and delegations

Colonel M. has assumed command of Unit 8133, the IDF General Staff unit responsible for protecting senior military officials and delegations, replacing Lieutenant Colonel M., who served for four years. The unit oversees the security of IDF senior officials and delegations both in Israel and abroad. The change-of-command ceremony was held at the Kirya military headquarters in the presence of Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir and other senior officers.

Colonel M. assumed command of Unit 8133 yesterday (Thursday), the IDF General Staff unit for protecting senior military officials, replacing Lieutenant Colonel M., who served in the role for the past four years. The unit is responsible for securing IDF senior officials and delegations in Israel and abroad, operating around the clock to neutralize threats through detection and deception methods, scans, and unique operational capabilities. The change-of-command ceremony was held this week at the Kirya, led by Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir, Head of the Operations Directorate, Major General Itzik Cohen, and other senior officers. Lieutenant Colonel M., the outgoing unit commander, said he is "leaving with a great sense of significance for the privilege of leading such a special unit during a historic period."
