Naftali Bennett, chairman of the 'Together' party, announced today (Wednesday) the addition of Mati Gill, founding CEO of the artificial intelligence company AION Labs, to the party's list for the upcoming Knesset elections. Gill, a reserve major, is one of the founders of the joint command center for the IDF and the US Central Command (CENTCOM), which operated in the Lebanon sector during the 'Swords of Iron' war. He will serve as the party's head of high-tech. Gill previously served as head of the bureau of Avi Dichter from Likud, when Dichter served as Minister of Internal Security on behalf of the Kadima party. In 2008, he was moderately wounded by Hamas fire aimed at the minister's entourage, which was visiting Givat Nazmit near Kibbutz Nir Am in the Gaza envelope. In the announcement of his joining, it was stated that Gill has extensive experience in biotechnology, and under his leadership, 10 new startups were established in the company within four years. Previously, he held senior management positions at the Israeli pharmaceutical giant Teva. Gill said: "After years of work in the public and private sectors, I realized that the time has come to contribute what I learned in public service. Our amazing people deserve worthy leadership - one that will bring real deep repair and turn Israel into the exemplary state my family immigrated to. Naftali Bennett is the right leader at the right time - he comes ready, experienced, with an excellent team and the courage to lead the deep changes the state needs." Bennett said: "Mati Gill is a significant addition of strength to Israel's repair team. Mati has led major moves for Israeli technology over the past twenty years, and with God's help, he will lead great moves on these issues for the state after the elections."
