Netflix defends Israeli creators in Tyra Banks defamation suit

Netflix has filed a motion to dismiss the defamation lawsuit filed by Tyra Banks against the streaming service and Israeli creators Mor Loushy and Daniel Sivan over the documentary 'The Reality of Reality: Behind America's Next Top Model'. Netflix argues that Banks' complaints concern routine editorial decisions and that her disagreement with her portrayal does not constitute defamation. Netflix filed a motion over the weekend to dismiss the defamation lawsuit brought against it by Tyra Banks over the documentary series 'The Reality of Reality: Behind America's Next Top Model'. In the motion, Netflix argues that Banks' claims relate to routine editorial decisions, of the kind Banks herself made during the show's 24 seasons. Netflix's attorneys noted that Banks signed a standard release form in which she waived creative control. Banks, 52, claims that her interview was edited deceptively to create the impression that she forgot contestant Shandi Sullivan, and that the rest of her answer was omitted. Netflix responded that her answer was included at the beginning of the second episode. Banks' attorney, Tom Clare, called on Netflix to release the full, unedited interview, which is three hours long, so that viewers can judge for themselves.
