Netanyahu spent nearly a million shekels for garden maintenance in 2025, report reveals

A report by the Movement for Freedom of Information reveals that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's residences cost NIS 1,979,517 in 2025, including NIS 94,957 for gardening at the Caesarea residence and NIS 10,590 for root prevention. Nearly NIS 65,000 was redacted. The PMO responded that expenses under Netanyahu are lower than under previous premiers.

The Movement for Freedom of Information revealed on Tuesday the expenses for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's residences in 2025 and the first half of 2026. For the first time, the classification included the private residence on Gaza Street and additional residences in Caesarea. In 2025, total expenses reached NIS 1,979,517, with NIS 165,444 for food, NIS 94,957 for gardening at Caesarea, and NIS 10,590 for root prevention. Nearly NIS 65,000 was completely redacted. In the first half of 2026, expenses totaled NIS 731,081, including NIS 53,584 for food and NIS 14,986 for a bathtub replacement. Attorney Hidi Negev criticized the need to petition the court for disclosure, calling for proactive transparency. The Prime Minister's Office responded that Netanyahu's expenses are significantly lower than those of previous premiers, citing NIS 465,319 under Netanyahu versus NIS 1,370,362 under Naftali Bennett for comparable periods.
