Netanyahu spends NIS 2.7m on private homes with public money

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spent NIS 2.7 million on his private homes in Caesarea and Jerusalem over the past 18 months, according to data from the Prime Minister's Office obtained by the Movement for Freedom of Information. In 2025, spending totaled NIS 1.97 million; in the first half of 2026, it was NIS 731,081. Expenses included NIS 95,000 for landscaping in Caesarea, NIS 165,000 for food, NIS 42,000 for maintenance, NIS 31,000 for electricity, and NIS 27,000 for replacing two baths in Jerusalem. NIS 63,000 in expenses were blacked out. The Movement for Freedom of Information CEO Adv. Hiddai Negev criticized the "extravagant policy" and lack of transparency, noting the public bears a heavy economic burden.
