A Maariv poll conducted by Lazar Research headed by Dr. Menachem Lazar, in collaboration with Panel4All, indicates a significant shift in the political map. The Yashar! party led by Gadi Eisenkot surges to 26 seats - a new high and a rise of 3 seats from last week. In contrast, Likud led by Benjamin Netanyahu drops by one seat to 20 seats. The entire opposition bloc now stands at 60 seats, a stone's throw from the 61 needed to form a coalition. The coalition bloc, despite Likud's decline, rises by one seat to 49 thanks to the strengthening of Otzma Yehudit and Religious Zionism. In the personal gap against Netanyahu, Eisenkot opens a record gap of 14% on the question of suitability for prime minister: 52% support for Eisenkot compared to 38% for Netanyahu. The poll was conducted on August 19-20, 2026 among 501 respondents out of 3,916 invited, with a maximum sampling error of 4.4%.
